Vibration of Yellow

Whether you’re controlling the wind with a little help from Peridot or enhancing your money situation with citrine, or bladder problems with topaz, each stone has a unique vibration.

Tips for Wearing Yellow

The great thing about yellow gems is that they come in every shade imaginable. From pale yellow sapphires and golden topaz, to deep lemon citrines and sunflower yellow peridot, there truly is something for everyone’s taste. So what kind of yellow gemstone accessories should you wear? Here are some tips:

It could be earrings, necklaces or pendants – just look through your jewelry box and think of the colors in your wardrobe this time of year. Perhaps yellow is a color you wear a lot in the spring and summer.

If yellow is a color you don’t gravitate towards, try an accessory that features yellow gems on one side only. That way your yellow accessories will add just a pop of color without being too overwhelming or clashing with your wardrobe choices.

Here are some yellow gemstones that would look great on anyone:

Citrine

Citrine is yellow quartz that looks very similar to yellow topaz, but it’s yellow in color whereas topaz is white and sometimes blueish. Citrine is bright and cheerful, so it’s perfect for summertime outfits.

Citrine is the November birthstone and for the zodiac sign of Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21). Citrine has been referred to as the “success stone,” “merchant’s stone” or “money stone.” Because of its yellow color, citrine is thought of as a joyous stone with sunshiny energy to brighten up the lives of those who work with it and wear it.

The color of the solar plexus chakra is yellow, so citrine is associated with this chakra. It is thought to have a positive influence that can relieve backache and combat depression, negative energy and problems with the liver, spleen, digestive system and bladder.

Peridot

Peridot can be as bright as yellow daffodil flowers! But some peridot gemstones are more green than yellow, which makes them suitable to wear all year round. You might want to layer up some citrine bracelets on one arm and a simple peridot band on the other.

Because of its bright green color and energetic properties, peridot is often considered a stone for opening the heart. It is also known for attracting abundance, family harmony, and good luck. The deeper green color peridot is sometimes mistaken for an emerald. Pale green peridot, sometimes called the evening emerald is usually associated with spirituality and expression.

Sometimes also referred to as olivine, it is only found in one color–green. This uncommon green color is best known simply as peridot green and it varies from olive to brownish-green. Fire Mountain Gems Encyclobeadia sais that the stones were used as “talismans featuring carved donkeys for spiritual enhancement and carved vultures for controlling the four winds and evil spirits.”

Peridot is sometimes confused with topaz. It is yellow like topaz, but don’t be fooled! Peridot has a secondary yellowish-green color and softness to it that makes it different from the hardness of yellow topaz.

Topaz

Topaz makes great fashion accessories because it’s similar to diamonds in brilliance – meaning it sparkles beautifully! You might wear a brilliant yellow topaz ring with a yellow sapphire ring, or a yellow topaz bracelet that coordinates with yellow sapphires on your earrings.

If you love yellow and want something other than yellow sapphire (which can appear too much like yellow diamonds), try yellow topaz instead. It’s great for those who want to stay away from yellow gold jewelry and perhaps prefer silver or white gold, because yellow topaz looks amazing paired with either metal.

Yellow topaz is the official birthstone for those born in November (also called citrine). The stone is known a positive influence for those who wear it. Besides yellow topaz, the solar plexus chakra is yellow in color and thought to have a positive influence that can relieve backache and combat depression, negative energy and problems with the liver, spleen, digestive system and bladder.

Yellow is a great color and there are many gemstones that can be worn with some good fashion options. If you’re looking to add something bright into your wardrobe, we recommend considering the power of yellow jewelry!
